Warranty

Owen Bunnell Inc. (OB) warrants, to the original retail purchaser, all OB products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product when purchased from an authorized OB Dealer. Please note that warpage is not covered under our warranty if you have an ‘original’ OB Shaft. However, warpage IS covered under our warranty if you have an OB Plus Shaft. You can tell if you have a plus shaft by looking at the logo on the bottom of your shaft, if it has a + symbol to the right of OB then you have a plus shaft.

Authorized OB dealers can be direct retail dealers as well as network retail dealers. Direct retail dealers work directly with OB, whereas network retail dealers operate through our distributor network. Direct retail dealers are listed on our website HERE, but network retail dealers are not.

Product registration is required within 90 days of purchase and should be completed on our website HERE. Failure to fully complete the product registration in a timely fashion may lead to difficulty and/or delays in getting warranty service.

In the event an OB product needs repair or replacement, it must be returned with our product return form which can be found HERE. Once we receive your product with a product return form then we will inspect it and make a determination of warranty coverage. All warrantable issues will be repaired if possible. In those circumstances where the warrantable issue is not repairable, the product will be replaced. If the condition is not a warrantable issue, OB will contact the owner with an estimate for repairs, or replacement. In the event OB receives a package with no discernible contact, the package will be held until claimed. At that time, the item can be considered for determination of warranty coverage.

Things NOT covered by the OB Warranty include, but are not limited to:

  • Damage due to abuse or neglect.
  • Insufficient Tip Height. If you allow the tip of your shaft to get too low before replacing it, your ferrule may crack. If the tip is deemed by OB as being too low then your warranty would be considered void.
  • Warpage. Most cue manufacturers do not warranty warpage. At this time, warpage is not covered under warranty by OB. However, as mentioned above, if you have a plus shaft then warpage is covered.
  • Damage caused by playing with OB Shafts without the carbon fiber pad which is placed between the tip and the ferrule.
  • Reducing the tip diameter of an OB shaft below original size.
  • Custom joint work provided outside OB to fit a partial OB Shaft to a cue. When a partial OB Shaft is the original purchase from OB, then OB will replace any defective product with another partial OB Shaft.
  • Switching or changing OB Shaft models. If an OB Shaft needs to be replaced under our warranty, it will be replaced with the same model as originally purchased. In the event that particular model is not available, then OB will choose the most appropriate replacement cue shaft.
  • OB Blem and Demo Products are not covered under warranty

This is the sole warranty of OB and no other warranties are either expressed or implied, in fact or by law.

OB liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the OB product. In the event an exact replacement is not available (either because it’s discontinued or out of stock) OB Cues will offer what is deemed an acceptable replacement or an option to upgrade to a different shaft for a discounted price.

Refunds for returned product is determined on a case by case basis. If a refund is approved, the product must be returned in NEW, UNUSED, and ORIGINAL CONDITION within 30 days. This includes the tip being unchalked. Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Shipping and insurance for the return of product is the responsibility of the customer. The cost of the any customization is non-refundable. This includes charges for upgraded tips.

Purchases made through Affirm that are approved for a refund must be returned within 30 days in new condition. Affirm purchases are subject to a 15% restocking fee. This includes cancelled orders.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Shipping and insurance charges for the return of the item(s) are the responsibility of the customers. 

The cost of any cue or shaft customizations are non-refundable. This includes the cost for tip changes or other customizations. Shipping cost is refunded if the product has not been shipped yet.

OB shall not be liable for any consequential, special, incidental or punitive damages resulting from or caused by any failed OB Products.

Packaging suggestions:

If you need to return your cue or shaft to us for repair or for a warranty issue, please consider the following recommendations for packaging.

  1. Wrap your cue or shaft in either foam wrap or bubble wrap to protect it from bumps, dents, and scratches. Don’t build up the wrapping so much that the cue or shaft is tight inside the box. Doing so could cause the shaft to be bent if the package or box is bent during shipping.
  2. Please don’t use packaging popcorn or packaging peanuts style of packaging. These products will not protect your cue or cue shaft, and they are messy. We really don’t like them!
  3. Don’t pack the cue or shaft tight inside the box. Long narrow boxes or tubes are very often caught in the shipping machinery at the depot and the boxes are slightly bent when this happens. If your shaft or cue is too tight then it too will be bent which is damage and not a matter for warranty. If the shaft is properly padded, and still has room to move inside the box, then the box can bend a little and not bend the cue or shaft inside.
  4. The best package is the triangular tube offered by most carriers. USPS triangular tubes are the only exception to this. They are not strong enough to give proper protection. We recommend not using USPS at all when shipping.
  5. Always include our product return form inside the box. Without this form, your return will not be processed.
  6. You must provide insurance for your product when you ship it.

Refunds are determined on a case by case basis. As a general rule, we will only refund if the product can not be repaired or replaced.

If you bought your product through a dealer then please contact them directly and let them know your concern so that they can try and help resolve it.

INTERNATIONAL RETURNS

Please note that if a refund is requested and approved, it takes up to 7 business days to process from the time we receive your item(s) back into stock.

All customers are responsible for any additional duty/customs fees, taxes, brokerage fees and insurance fees that may be assessed for returned items shipped internationally. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer for warranty replacements. All customers are also responsible for any duty, tax or brokerage fees and insurance for replacements. Closeouts, custom orders, blemished or demo items are not returnable either domestically or internationally.

Affirm Financed Purchases- Due To Affirm’s Policy, items in new condition must be returned for a
refund within the 30-day refund terms as stated by the Affirm financing policy.

Damaged Goods

If a package arrives damaged, note the damage and call us immediately. If the driver is still present, ask that the damage be noted. This will expedite shipping claims. Do not discard product or packaging. The carrier may wish to inspect the package before paying a claim.

If the package is damaged but the merchandise looks unaffected, note the damage on all delivery receipts before signing. If the package is damaged to an extent the merchandise may be damaged, refuse delivery and call our Customer Service at 1-877-399-9901.

If you find an item damaged after delivery, retain shipping carton and all packing material and notify the carrier and OB Cues immediately. OB Cues is not responsible for any delay caused by the shipping company. We will help replace products in a timely manner as our goal is your customer satisfaction.

Shortage

Please inspect your shipment carefully upon arrival. Unpack your order, inventory all items ordered, and report any shortage immediately. If it is a small part or item you are missing, please look carefully throughout the package and packaging material as small items can become dislodged during the shipping process. Customers have 5 days from delivery to report any discrepancy between what was ordered and what was actually shipped.

Shipping Errors

If an item is missing or a wrong item has been shipped due to our error, the problem will be corrected at our shipping expense. OB Cues will pay for the pickup of the wrong item as well as the delivery of the correct item. If you have inadvertently ordered the wrong item or wrong type due to customer error, the customer will be liable for shipping expenses to and from OB Cues to correct the problem.

Please do not return your OB product in a pool cue case and please do not send any joint protectors with your cue.
