If you have a Viking Cue and are looking for an OB Shaft to fit it, then you most likely have either a Viking Quick Release joint or a standard 5/16×18 Joint in your cue. The Viking Quick Release joint is by far the most common and is basically a 5/16×18 joint that is quick release.
If you look at the pin coming out of the butt of your cue and the threads do not go all the way up the joint pin, then you have the Viking Quick Release joint. If the entire joint pin has threads, then you have a standard 5/16×18 joint. Note that usually the only Viking Cues that have a standard 5/16×18 joint are much older cues.
